Tarot is an exciting and complex study, let's face it, it is a study and at times can be a little frustrating.
In my book I have layered the information so you can start with the basics, so that you can work through a layout and read the cards, then move on to understanding card relationships and then finally symbolism that can be related to most cards and most decks even if they are not tarot. The books that come with decks rarely offer meanings of the actual symbolism used and for some decks it is an accidental use that the artist simply found matched the intention of the card, rather than a deliberate idea to tweak the mind of the user.
In particular when reading for self or friends the symbolism will ensure objectivity and offer a direction or a central theme to the card that will make sense in the overall reading and quite possibly drive to the heart of the question if in a significator or current position.
Even with all that is in Learn Tarot, there are cards that just don't gel with a question, or don't seem to fit the layout for some reason. At times the position of the card or its relationship with another can seem to be a bit of a riddle, for these moments it is nice to be supported and have questions answered in a timely manner.
